3 January - MONA

Ahh the Museum of Old and New Art. Grace loves the place. I dont hate it, but its very very odd.

Grace has been dying to see the new Gilbert and George Collection since she saw it advertised last time we were there, so we headed out for a visit today.

I have to say, I actually didnt mind some of the Giant G&G artworks, though Grace did find some of them a little odd.

We also found a whole new section of MONA we had never seen before, through a LONG rumbling, vibrating underground tunnel, and we came upon a 4m high stack of broken glass, as well as a very LARGE pile of brown paper bags (I did say it was very odd).

We also realised that the display with some stuffed animals and bugs that I always thought was actually just stuffed animals and bugs hanging from strings, actually does have some artistic merit, as there are actually tiny little fairy skeletons that have been hand made, attached to it all. Tiny. as in, probably about 8-10mm tall with ribs, feet, wings and fine detail.

Sad to note, there is now only ONE fish remaining in the fish bowl with a sharp knife. Hoping the other one died of old age or something, and did not Sashimi himself whilst swimming!
